Marco Bezzecchi will start on pole position in the race, despite a fall late on. The always fast-starting Jack Miller will be second on the grid. Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Marquez are third and fourth, both among the riders that crashed in qualifying.
The Gresini rider won the sprint later, in an upset that few saw coming. Bezzecchi tried to challenge him, but late-race effort was not good enough to mount a proper attack. Maverick Vinales completed the podium, coming from eighth as the Aprilias made good recoveries from bad starting spots.
Bagnaia, Marc Marquez and Fabio Quartararo will look to bounce back after a bad sprint race that saw them finish 14th, 18th and 21st respectively. The latter two will be coming from the back half of the field, after a challenging qualifying session.
Prediction #1: Marco Bezzecchi to Win
After pole and a strong finish in the Sprint, Marco Bezzecchi will look to return to the top step of the podium on Sunday. The Mooney VR46 rider has been competitive in all conditions at the British circuit and a win will be crucial towards his title bid, with Francesco Bagnaia 27 points ahead.
The pair fought at Assen as well, where the factory Ducati rider came out on top by a second. Bezzecchi growth has been evident from the start of this season, his second in MotoGP, during which he has claimed two Grand Prix victories.
Prediction #2: Jorge Martin on the Podium
Jorge Martin had a difficult 2022 campaign, which ultimately cost him a ride at the factory Ducati team. But this season, he has been very fast and lately he is translating his speed into good results.
Second, second, first and fourth have been his results in the last four rounds and they indicate that the Pramac Ducati rider is on a great run of form, one he will look to keep rolling. Last year he finished fifth and he is likely to do better today.
MotoGP Silverstone 2023 Weather Conditions
In contrast to what we saw on Saturday, rain will likely not be a factor in the Grand Prix. Of course, that can never be ruled out in Great Britain, but with a 30% chance of rain on the day, teams will be preparing at least one of each rider’s two bikes for dry weather running.
