Wyndham Championship 2023 – Day 4 Betting Tips and Predictions

Sunday’s final round of the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club should provide plenty of excitement, with Billy Horschel and Lucas Glover co-leading the event at 18-under par.

Russell Henley (17-under) is just behind them, followed by Byeong hun-An at 15-under. Glover, a major champion, is trying to win for the first time since 2021 and sneak into the FedEx Cup playoffs, while Horschel will also likely need a victory to reach the top 70 of the standings in order to qualify.

There are a plethora of head-to-head matchups on sportsbooks between varying calibers of players tomorrow. We’ll provide three betting tips for a few we viewed as lopsided.

Wyndham Championship Day 4 Picks: H2H Matchups

The following predictions are for the 18 holes played only on Sunday.

Russell Henley over Byeong Hun An @ 4/6 (-150)

Henley has been a horse for the course at Sedgefield. In his previous three appearances, he’s recorded top-10 finishes, and he’s played excellent this week after rounds of 63, 67 and 65 in the first three days. He held the 36-hole lead.

  • 2020: 9th
  • 2019: 31st

  • 2017: 46th

The No. 34 player in the Official World Golf Rankings, Henley, has also picked up an average of 0.47 more strokes per round than An (78th in the OWGR) when playing at the Wyndham Championship.

  • An: 1.16

The Macon, Georgia native also owns a better final-round scoring average.

  • An: 70.42 in 20 rounds (Ranked 115th)

This week, Henley’s recorded a lower score in two of the three rounds, with the other being a tie. The former Georgia Bulldog also earned a better result in four of the last five events both participated in.

Brandon Wu over Tyler Duncan @ 4/5 (-125)

Brandon Wu’s game also fits Sedgefield nicely. In seven career rounds at the track, he’s recorded a 68 or better on five occasions.

Duncan has played the Wyndham Championship the past five years in a row and has yet to record a top 10, with finishes of MC, 57th, 13th, 39th and MC.

  • Wu: 1.80 in four rounds
  • Duncan: 0.37 in 16 rounds

Wu owns nearly a stroke advantage over Duncan in final rounds this season.

  • Duncan: 70.50 in 10 rounds (Ranked 119th)

The 26-year-old Stanford product has also produced a better total scoring average.

Eric Cole over Adam Svensson @ 10/12 (-120)

Rookie Eric Cole has enjoyed a very successful first season on the PGA Tour. The 35-year-old has made eight-consecutive cuts and has 11 top-30 finishes, along with a solo second at the Honda Classic.

The Nova Southeastern product owns a better final-round scoring average and total scoring average than Adam Svensson.

  • Cole: 69.21 in 19 rounds (Ranked 22nd)
  • Svensson: 70.26 in 19 rounds (Ranked 98th)

Total scoring averages

  • Cole: 70.035 in 94 rounds (Ranked 20th)
  • Svensson: 70.788 in 90 rounds (Ranked 82nd)

In terms of true strokes gained, Cole has gained strokes in seven-straight events and nine of his last 10. Svensson has been less consistent, gaining strokes in the last three starts but losing strokes in the four tournaments before.
