Son Heung-min is having another phenomenal season for Tottenham. The forward has 20 goals and nine assists in all competitions.
The South Korean hit a brace in the weekend victory over Leicester. He also assisted the other goal as Spurs won 3-1.
His latest heroics place him just three goals behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in the Premier League goalscoring charts. The Egyptian has 22, with Son on 19.
One major difference between the pair, however, is penalties. The Spurs star has no penalties on his list of goals. Salah meanwhile has five. The Reds winger has also played a game more.
Which other statistics show just how impressive Son has been in the current campaign?

Son Heung-min in blistering form for Spurs
Son has by no means been the most attacking player in the league this season. In fact, 10 players are ahead of him for shots taken. As noted by the Premier League, he’s had 73 efforts. Salah is well ahead on 127. Son’s teammate Harry Kane is second on the list with 110.
But importantly, the South Korean moves well up the leaderboard when it comes to shots on target. He sits fourth with 40 efforts on target. Salah (57) and Kane (44) are once again in first and second. Manchester United icon Cristiano Ronaldo is third with 41.
Crucially, however, Son is comfortably ahead of all three when it comes to being clinical. The Spurs man boasts a shooting accuracy of 55%. Salah’s figure is 45%, with Kane and Ronaldo both on 40%.
Equally impressive is the attacker’s versatility. Antonio Conte certainly likes to chop and change his formations. And Son has been forced to bear the brunt of that. He’s played in five positions this season; left-wing, right-wing, attacking midfield, second striker, and centre-forward.
He’s not only versatile positionally, but also on the ball. 11 of his 19 league goals have come from his left foot, with the other eight coming from his right. And it could have been more, if not for his two shots that have struck the woodwork.
Spurs attacking trio ready for top four battle
Statistics aside, the winger has been crucial in terms of his team play. It’s clear just how strong a bond he has with Kane. The deadly duo are rarely out of the headlines. Kane has also been in sublime form individually. He has 23 goals in all competitions.
But one late addition to the party has been winger Dejan Kulusevski. He only arrived in January, but already has eight league assists. Only Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Mason Mount and Paul Pogba have more.
The Sweden international is level with Kane for assists. And both are one ahead of Son. The trio are crucial to Conte. Their link-up will be key as Spurs continue their fight for fourth spot.
The north London outfit sit fifth in the table. They are two points behind fierce rivals Arsenal. The two clubs meet later this month, in what could finally settle the battle for fourth.
