RR vs SRH, IPL 2023 Match 52 Prediction, Betting Tips & Odds

Rajasthan Royals host Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final game of four weekend fixtures in the 2023 IPL. Both sides have poor recent form but it is Rajasthan Royals who are favourites at 4/6 (1.67) with Sunrisers Hyderabad at 6/5 (2.20) to win.

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

  • Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad, Match 52
  • May 7, 2023 – 15:00 GMT
  • Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur

Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

Spin bowlers were the most impressive on this pitch on Friday but Rajasthan Royals’ total of 118 (17.5) was well under par. We expect a par score to be in the region of 155-165 in this game.

It will get cloudier as the game progresses in Jaipur but the temperature will remain very warm and will not drop below the high 20s in the latter stages of the game.

Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad – Match Predictions

Both Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad have won only one of their last five games and both teams suffered embarrassing defeats in their last matches. So it will come down to which side is able to shock themselves into action and we are backing Rajasthan Royals due to their greater big-game experience.

Probable 6s

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in excellent form for Rajasthan Royals and if he had not been run-out after a huge mis-understanding with skipper Sanju Samson on Friday then it could have been a very different result against Gujarat Titans. Shimron Hetmyer will feel the pressure of Joe Root waiting in the wings and we expect both left-handers to deliver on the way to Rajasthan Royals hitting the most sixes in the game.

Our prediction: Rajasthan Royals to hit most sixes in the match at 8/15 (1.53).

Probable Wickets

During a very disappointing performance in the field, with a very small target to defend, Yuzvendra Chahal was the only Rajasthan Royals player to pick up a wicket. He was able to find the pace of the wicket and continued to bowl the ball slower and slower whilst realising that the Gujarat batters were not looking to throw their wickets away. He should be up against more attacking batters in this game and we expect him to get plenty of turn once more.

Our prediction: Yuzvendra Chahal to be Rajasthan Royals’ highest wicket-taker at 5/2 (3.50).

Man of the Match

The heavy defeat against Gujarat Titans will have been particularly hard for the skipper, Sanju Samson, to take in spite of the fact that he top scored for Rajasthan and produced a stumping. With the spinners likely to be key in this game, he will need to be at his best behind the stumps as well as when he is batting. And with Jos Buttler struggling for runs, we see Samson as the player who will standout.

Our prediction: Sanju Samson to be the Man of the Match at 10/1 (11.00).

Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

This will be the 18th contest between these two sides and it is Rajasthan Royals who carry a very narrow lead of 9-8 into the match. The Royals have thrashed Sunrisers in both of their last two clashes.

Rajasthan Royals

After a very limp performance from Rajasthan Royals in their last game, calls have been growing for former England Test skipper Joe Root to get his first opportunity in the IPL in this match. However, we will be surprised if he does get the nod.

Predicted XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (c) (wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shimron Hetmyer, Dhruv Jurel, Trent Boult, Adam Zampa, Sandeep Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Aiden Markram announced a team with three changes ahead of their game against Kolkata Knight Riders. They will want to forget about that game in a hurry after they were unable to turn an equation of 10 runs needed from eight balls into a victory. We expect the same players to be given the opportunity to redeem themselves in this match.

Predicted XI: Abhishek Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram (c), Harry Brook, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Abdul Samad, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, Kartik Tyagi
