Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

The pitches at the Gaddafi Stadium are generally terrific for batting, aided by short boundaries. Nine matches were played here recently in the PSL, where the average batting first score was 186. In the first T20I between these two teams on Friday, there was good assistance for fast bowlers.

It could be partly cloudy in Lahore on Saturday evening but there should be no threat of rain. The temperature is likely to be around 27°C.

PAK vs NZ – 2nd T20I Match Predictions

Pakistan have dominated New Zealand in the shorter format, winning five out of the previous six encounters. Pakistan have their full-strength side for this series whereas the visitors are missing their regular players.

Probable 6s

Pakistan have a batting line-up comprising Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan. New Zealand have an inferior batting unit and struggled badly in the opening game.

Our prediction: Pakistan to hit most sixes in the match at 4/5 (1.80).

Probable Wickets

Matt Henry was excellent in the series opener, claiming a hat-trick. Back him to be New Zealand’s top wicket-taker at 100/30 (4.33). Haris Rauf rattled the Pakistan batting line-up in the first T20I with 4 for 18. He is a good bet to be the top bowler for Pakistan at 3/1 (4.00).

Our prediction: Matt Henry to be New Zealand’s highest wicket-taker at 100/30 (4.33).

Man of the Match

Babar Azam was knocked over early in the series opener but his class can’t be ignored. He has over 3300 runs in T20I cricket at 41 average. Back Babar to be the player of the match at 9/2 (5.50). Other top betting options include Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan, Imad Wasim and Daryl Mitchell.

Our prediction: Babar Azam to be the Man of the Match at 9/2 (5.50).

PAK vs NZ Preview

Pakistan made light work of the visitors to claim a dominant 88-run victory in the opening match. Let’s take a look at two teams before they clash in the second T20I.

Pakistan

Pakistan lost their openers early in the first match but Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub scored 47 each to power them to 182. Haris Rauf then snared 4 for 18 to bowl out the opponents to just 94.

Pakistan couldn’t find a place for Mohammed Harris in the first game with Saim Ayub batting at 4. Expect them to rotate their pace bowling options in this series.

Predicted XI: Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Imad Wasim, Zaman Khan, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf

Predicted XI: Chad Bowes, Tim Seifert, Tom Latham (c/wk), Daryl Mitchell, Mark Chapman, James Neesham, Rachin Ravindra, Adam Milne, Matt Henry, Ish Sodhi, Ben Lister
