Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

Malahide in Dublin has generally been a terrific venue for batting with the ball coming on to the bat nicely. Short boundaries also help the batting side. The average first innings score in men’s T20Is played here stands at 164.

The weather forecast does not look good for this fixture, with Dublin expected to witness rainfall on Friday. There’s around a 73% chance of precipitation on Friday afternoon with 99% cloud cover.

Ireland vs India Prediction

The head to head record is in favour of India, who have won all five T20I matches between the two sides. Despite having a secondary squad on this tour, they have enough quality in the batting unit while the bowling unit looks potent.

Top Run-scorer

Yashasvi Jaiswal recently hammered 84 not-out in 51 balls against West Indies. He had a terrific IPL campaign and you can back him to be the top batter for India at 9/4 (3.25). Andy Balbirnie has over 3000 runs in the shorter format at an average of 25 and strike rate of 128. You can back him to be Ireland’s top batter at 11/4 (3.75).

Our Prediction: Yashasvi Jaiswal to be India’s top run-scorer at 9/4 (3.25).

Top Wicket-taker

Ravi Bishnoi will be India’s frontline spinner in this series and you can expect him to do well against Ireland batters. Bet on Bishnoi to be India’s best bowler at 3/1 (4.00). Joshua Little has had a lot of growth in the format and should pose a threat to the visitors. Back Little to be the top bowler for Ireland at 13/5 (3.60).

Our Prediction: Ravi Bishnoi to be India’s top wicket-taker at 3/1 (4.00).

Man of the Match

Yashasvi Jaiswal struck 625 runs in this year’s IPL at a strike rate of 164 while averaging 48. He has been in very good form and is a top contender for the player of the match at 13/2 (7.50).

Our Prediction: Yashasvi Jaiswal to be the Man of the Match at 13/2 (7.50) odds.

Ireland vs India Preview

Ireland, who have never defeated India in international cricket, will look to create history when they meet on Friday. Here’s a look at two teams ahead of the first T20I.

Ireland

Ireland played in the T20 World Cup Europe Region Qualifier last month, where they finished second and secured a berth for the event. They won four out of six games and lost only one.

They have named a first choice squad with Paul Stirling set to lead the side. The playing XI should have usual players, with only Ben White and Fionn Hand being relatively new names.

Squad: Paul Stirling (c), Andrew Balbirnie, Lorcan Tucker (wk), Harry Tector, George Dockrell, Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany, Fionn Hand, Mark Adair, Joshua Little, Ben White

India

The men in blue, led by Hardik Pandya, played a five-match series against the West Indies only recently. They lost the series after losing the final game by eight wickets.

This will be a new look side with Jasprit Bumrah leading and several young players getting opportunities. Prasidh Krishna will also mark his return on this tour.

Squad: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson (wk), Tilak Varma, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh, Washington Sundar, Jasprit Bumrah (c), Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna
