India vs New Zealand Prediction and Odds: Second ODI

India vs New Zealand Prediction and Odds: Second ODI

Two days ago, India and New Zealand combined for an entertaining One-Day International that saw 686 runs scored in a little under 100 overs. Now, the two teams will take to the field again for the second ODI in this three match series.

New Zealand will be heartened by their performance in the first ODI. Despite Shubman Gill scoring a brilliant double century, the Black Caps were able to keep a cap on the scoring of the other Indian batsman, reducing the damage in the death overs and coming close in their chase. India, on the other hand, will be eager to pounce on this opportunity to seal yet another home series win with a game to spare.

We look at all the best bets to make on the second game of this three match ODI series between India and New Zealand.

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

India vs New Zealand – Match Prediction

Here are the best two bets our experts suggest placing on the second ODI between India and New Zealand this Saturday:

New Zealand to Win @ 21/10 (3.10)

Remove Shubman Gill from the equation, and New Zealand would have won the first ODI against India. They had excellent control with the ball, and had more batsmen contributing throughout the innings, outside of Michael Bracewell’s 140.

India have gone big in their past three innings scoring close to 350 each time. However, not too long ago they were limited to a string of low scores in a series defeat to Bangladesh. While it may seem like India are the clear favourites to win here, we’d back a bet the other way and wager on the Kiwis to square the series up for a healthy return of 21/10 (3.10).

India vs New Zealand Prediction and Odds: First ODI

Devon Conway to Be New Zealand’s Top Run Scorer @ 10/3 (4.33)

It’s time for Conway to fire again. The opening batsman was removed cheaply last game, but has been the standout performer for New Zealand over the past 18 months. He’s in a rich vein of form, and is an excellent bet to make another big score when his side needs him the most in this second ODI.

India vs New Zealand First ODI Preview

Given these two bets, here’s a little more background on how each of these sides are playing at the moment and what their squads are looking like.

India

India are on a roll currently, bouncing back from a series defeat against Bangladesh by white washing Sri Lanka 3-0 in an ODI series. Now, having beaten New Zealand in the first ODI, India are on a five game winning streak in ODIs. Their victories have largely come due to big runs, with their past four totals batting first being 409/8, 373/7, 390/5 and 349/8.

New Zealand

New Zealand on the other hand have been not quite as compelling. It’s as though they’re a few percent off their best, having just fallen 12 runs short against India, and only just scraping past Pakistan with a 2-1 series win prior to that. Expect the Kiwis to find their top form soon.

India vs New Zealand Head to Head

India won the latest ODI between these two by 12 runs, and also lead the overall ODI head to head 56-49, with one tie.
