England vs Australia Prediction

Australia have won seven out of the previous 10 Tests between the two sides. England are coming into this game on the back of a victory but still have a vulnerable batting unit due to their approach. Australia will strengthen their bowling attack for this game.

Top Run-scorer First Innings

Travis Head has been in incredible form, scoring 1655 runs since 2021 at an average of 53 and strike rate of 80. Bet on Head to be Australia’s top batter at 9/4 (3.25). Joe Root has had two bad games after a fantastic performance at Edgbaston. You can back a player of his quality to turn things around and be England’s top batter at 2/1 (3.00).

Our Prediction: Travis Head to be the top run-scorer for Australia in the first innings at 9/4 (3.25).

Mark Wood made a huge impact in the third Test, snaring seven wickets in two innings. Back him to come good again and be England’s top bowler at 13/5 (3.60). Pat Cummins was terrific in the first innings at Headingley, picking six wickets. Bet on Cummins to be Australia’s best bowler at 11/4 (3.75).

Our Prediction: Mark Wood to be England’s top wicket-taker in first innings at 13/5 (3.60).

Man of the Match

Travis Head scored a brilliant 77 in the second innings at Headingley. He has scored 266 runs in that series at a strike rate of 73. Head is a good bet to be the player of the match at 12/1 (13.00). Among others, Mitchell Starc, Ben Stokes and Steve Smith could be top betting options.

Our Prediction: Travis Head to be the Man of the Match at 12/1 (13.00) odds.

Squad: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Moeen Ali, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Stuart Broad, James Anderson

Australia

Australia were in a good position several times in the third Test but could not win those moments. Mitchell Marsh scored a brutal 118 off 118 in the first innings while Pat Cummins bagged a six-for. Travis Head (77) and Mitchell Starc (5/78) also did well in their second outings.

Australia will bring in Josh Hazlewood in place of Scott Boland. They have a selection headache with Cameron Green and Mitch Marsh vying for the same spot. It would be interesting to see if they do something out of the box.
