With the group stage now complete, we are into the exciting playoff phase of this season’s Big Bash League. And this isn’t any old traditional semi-finals and finals type of competition, we’ve got an Eliminator, Qualifier, Knockout and Challenger games before the final takes place on February 4th.
Perth Scorchers (22 points) and Sydney Sixers (21 points), the finalists in each of the last three BBL seasons, finished the group stage in the top two places. The Sixers ended seven points clear of third place Melbourne Renegades who are joined in the playoffs by Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat.
We have bid farewell until next season to Hobart Hurricanes, Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Strikers. But the focus is on the remaining five teams – here are our Big Bash betting tips for the rest of the tournament.

Perth Scorchers to Win @ 11/10 (2.10)
There is plenty going in favour of Perth Scorchers as they look to retain the trophy which they wrestled away from Sydney Sixers last year.
The holders finished top of the group stage with 11 wins from their 14 matches and won six of their last seven. Although their final group match was run by 10 runs, all of their other victories were by comfortable margins and they are a very well oiled machine.
Some of the other teams in the playoffs will lose a few of their star players as Australia’s Test team sets off for India. Perth Scorchers will say goodbye to leading run scorer Aaron Hardie after the Qualifier and will also be without Ashton Agar for all the knockout phase. However, they are also set to welcome star fast bowler Jhye Richardson back from injury. He has a strike rate of 11.00 with 13 wickets from seven BBL12 matches and his return will be crucial.
It will not be a simple journey, but we are backing Perth Scorchers to make it two successive BBL titles.
