Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

The Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur is known for its low and slow nature. Spinners generally find good assistance here while change of pace is also effective. A total of 59 T20 internationals have been played here with the average first innings score reading 144.

The weather in Mirpur is likely to be typically sunny and hot on Sunday afternoon. The temperature will hover around 35 degree Celsius.

Bangladesh vs England – Match Predictions

Bangladesh won the first match but not without a huge collapse from the visitors. They do have a bowling attack suitable for the conditions but their batting lacks power. England have a stronger batting line-up and have good bowling resources to level the series.

Probable 6s

A batting line-up of Jos Buttler, Phil Salt, Dawid Malan, Moeen Ali and Sam Curran is capable of smoking plenty of sixes. They smashed five sixes in the first T20I compared to only one from Bangladesh. As we mentioned already, Bangladesh lack power and you can back England without a hesitation.

Our Prediction: England to hit most sixes in the match at 3/5 (1.60).

Probable Wickets

Shakib Al Hasan picked 1 for 26 in the previous game and should be more effective at Mirpur. He has a stellar record at home and you can back him to be the top wicket-taker for Bangladesh at 3/1 (4.00). Moeen Ali’s off-spin could be very effective at this ground. You can take a punt on Moeen to be the top bowler for England at 6/1 (7.00) odds.

Our Prediction: Shakib Al Hasan to be the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh at 3/1 (4.00).

Man of the Match

Jos Buttler scored a fantastic half century in the opening match. He has an incredible record in the shorter format and can be a good bet at 11/2 (6.50) to be the player of the match. Among others, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali and Najmul Hossain Shanto are top betting options.

Our Prediction: Jos Buttler to be the Man of the Match at 11/2 (6.50) odds.

The Jos Buttler-led side will be extra motivated in the second match with the series on the line. Let’s take a look at both the teams ahead of their clash on Sunday.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh bowlers were excellent at the back end in the first T20I to restrict England to 156/6. Najmul Hossain Shanto then scored 51 off 30 while Shakib Al Hasan made an unbeaten 34 off 24 to take his side home.

Bangladesh have a pretty good bowling attack for the home conditions, with the likes of Shakib, Nasum Ahmed, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Hasan Mahmud. The batting unit did well on Thursday but might struggle to post big scores.

Squad: Rony Talukdar, Litton Das (wk), Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan (c), Shamim Hossain, Afif Hossain, Towhid Hridoy, Taskin Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed , Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud

England

Phil Salt scored 38 runs at the top while Buttler went on to hammer 67 off 42, placing England in a strong position to get in excess of 180. But they suffered a big collapse, losing four wickets for 12 runs and managing only 21 runs off the last 25 balls.

They can not afford another collapse like that. Dawid Malan and Moeen Ali need to take more responsibility in the middle order. In the bowling attack, Jofra Archer could be rested here after playing on Thursday, with Reece Topley likely coming in.

Squad: Jos Buttler (c/wk), Philip Salt, Dawid Malan, Ben Duckett, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Rehan Ahmed, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood, Reece Topley
