On day four we saw yet more superb stuff in the National Athletics Centre, Budapest. Kenya’s sensational Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon led a classy field a merry dance in the women’s 1500m, as she kept her world title with a decisive victory, while Morocco’s Soufiane Elbakkali also got the job done in striking fashion, leaving behind some classy opponents to win the men’s 3000 metres streeplechase, securing his second world title.
Looking ahead to the fifth day of the competition, there’s plenty to get excited about, that’s for sure. For starters, after two single-session days, we’re back to a double session. In the morning we have seven events to get stuck into, including the heats for the women’s 800 metres, plus the men’s long jump qualification. In the evening, there’s the small matter of the women’s pole vault final, plus the men’s 1500 metres final.
