As Saudi Pro League returns to the spotlight, we’ve readied the projected lineups for Al Riyadh and Al Ittehad, coupled with an overview of the latest developments surrounding these two squads.
Team News: Al Riyadh
Al Riyadh has got a quite favourable start to the first division with a victory over Al Wehda in the first round and then a draw against Damac. Saleh Al Abbad put Al Riyad in a strong lead of 0-2 against Damac with his brace in the first half. However, Damac’s Al Ammar rescued his team by notching a double, including a stoppage-time equaliser.
Al-Abbas and Musona have formed a formidable partnership up front for Al Riyadh. Musona contributed an opening goal in the initial match against Al Wehda and also assisted one of Abbas’s two goals in the recent game versus Abbas.
Al Riyadh has further bolstered its attacking prowess by acquiring a new striker from Real Betis. However, the Spanish forward is likely to remain on standby for one or two matchdays before making an appearance.
Assuming all players are fit and ready, it is anticipated that manager Ferrera will bring an unaltered starting XI against Ittehad.
Al Riyadh Predicted Lineups (3-4-3):
Campana; Asiri, Arslanagic, Tosca; Al-Nowaiqi, Ndong, Toure, Al Khaibari; Al-Zaqaan, Al Abbas, Musona

Al Ittehad has been ideal in the new season of the Saudi Pro League with consecutive victories over Al Raed and Al Taee. Abderrazak Hamdallah broke the deadlock for Ittehad in the second half of the last game against Al Taee and Al-Amri extended the lead in the 90th minute.
Continuing their impressive run of form, head coach Espirito Santo might opt to retain the identical starting lineup for the third round of league matches. Goalkeeper Abdullah Al-Jadani, along with Ahmed Hegazy and Aseel Abed, are currently listed as injured players within Ittehad’s squad.
Al-Ittehad Predicted Lineups (4-2-3-1):
Grohe; Bamasud, Hasawi, Alshanqeeti, Al-Olayan; Fabinho, Kante; Hamdallah, Romarinho, Coronado; Benzema
Will Benzema play for Al-Ittehad?
Al Ittehad boasts of the midfield pairing of Fabinho and N’golo Kante but it is the ever-reliable Karim Benzema for whom most of the crowd will show up for. The banished French attacker is fit and will be taking the Prince Turki bin Abdul Aziz Stadium pitch.
