Finn Russell was born on the 23rd of September 1992 to Keith and Sally in the town of Bridge of Allan, or ‘Bofa’.
Keith Russell
While little is known about his mother Sally, Finn’s father Keith forged a name for himself in the Scottish rugby industry long before Finn was born.
He was a sporting administrator his whole career and in 2015 became the Director of Domestic Rugby at the Scottish Rugby Union. Keith was dismissed from his role in May 2017 but later won a case in the employment tribunal for unfair dismissal. The court found that the SRU CEO, Mark Dodson, acted unfairly and erratically and Keith Russell was compensated by the SRU with a figure believed to be around six-figures.
Keith is now the CEO of Badminton Scotland.
Who are Finn Russell’s brothers?
Finn and Keith are not the only sportsmen in their family, his brothers Harry and Archie also play rugby.
Archie Russell
The youngest Russell brother, Archie played in the 2015 Junior World Championships for Scotland under-20s and played in the 2017 Varsity Match for Cambridge University, even scoring a try.
He is much bulkier than Finn, mostly playing outside centre and played alongside Finn during a club match for local team, Ayr.
Harry Russell
Eldest brother Harry became the third and final brother to play for the Stirling County first team when he signed there in 2022. Harry was a Stirling junior at the age of five up to the age of 20 before playing for the University of Melbourne, West Scotland and Falkirk, eventually returning to Stirling.
Who is Finn Russell’s girlfriend?
Finn has been with his girlfriend, Emma, since 2015 and they had their first child together in 2022.

Finn Russell’s girlfriend Emma Canning is a Scottish heptathlete who is ranked 302nd in the world in the Long Jump and 313th in the world in Heptathlon.
She is 25-years-old and lived with Finn and their daughter Charlie in Paris during his time with Racing Metro.
Other family
Finn Russell’s list of notable family members doesn’t end there, however. His grandparents both competing internationally for Scotland in badminton, while his uncle and great-grandfather both played cricket for Scotland.
