Canberra Raiders to Win 1-12

While the Raiders may be sitting sixth in the NRL ladder, the reality is they haven’t had a great second half of the season. In fact, the last time Canberra defeated a team inside the top eight was in May, and since then they’ve gone 5-4 with ugly wins over lower-ranked teams.

We say that’s exactly what we’ll see here on Sunday. The Bulldogs, while definitely prone to causing the occasional upset in 2023, likely won’t have the stones to pull off a win here. However, they’ll make it difficult for Canberra, who we can expect to bag another unimpressive win over a side outside of the eight.

After a strong start, the Raiders have looked patchy and underwhelming in the back end of the NRL season. The Green Machine are still looking likely for a playoffs spot with 12 wins and nine losses putting them in sixth place on the ladder, but it’s far from guaranteed and a win here would make them much more comfortable. Last week, they were dealt a rude awakening in a fourth vs fifth match, with the Storm pummeling them 48-2.

Canterbury Bulldogs

It’s been another tough year for the Bulldogs in 2023. Seven wins from 21 games sees them sit two spots from the bottom on 20 points. The team’s last four matches have been three comprehensive losses at the hands of the Knights, Panthers and Broncos, with a one point win over the Dolphins tucked in there for good measure.
