These are our Paraguay vs Peru predictions and tips:
Peru not to lose
Despite being the favourites to win this match, it’s important to point out that Paraguay have struggled against today’s opponents in recent years. In fact, the Peruvians came out on top the last three times these teams met; they have no losses in the last 10 skirmishes between these sides, with nine wins and a draw. Considering Paraguay suffered three losses in their last four matches, we don’t think they’ll win this game.
One team to blank
Our second Paraguay vs Peru prediction is on the BTTS market. We’ve already established that Paraguay suffered nine losses in the last 10 encounters between these sides. It’s also worth mentioning that they have struggled to find the net in recent clashes with Peru. As a matter of fact, the Peruvians kept six clean sheets in their last nine meetings with Paraguay. In the same vein, at least one team blanked in six of Paraguay’s last seven matches, five of Peru’s last six games too. All things considered, we shouldn’t expect goals at both ends.
A low-scoring affair
Given that both teams’ recent matches have been one-sided when it comes to goals, it’s no surprise that we believe that this will be a low-scoring game. Interestingly, Paraguay and Peru have both been involved in a lot of low-scoring matches these past few months. While five of Peru’s last six matches featured less than three goals, six of Paraguay’s last seven games went below the 2.5 goal mark. Taking into account that less than three goals were scored in four of the last six clashes between these teams, we are taking the under 2.5 goals option here.
Paraguay vs Peru match preview, analysis, and latest team news
Paraguay finally out an end to their losing streak with a 2-0 victory over Nicaragua; they had lost three consecutive matches prior to that victory, and had no wins in four games. Guillermo Schelotto’s men will look to string up back-to-back wins for the first time since September last year.
On the other hand, Peru’s last match was a humiliating 4-1 loss at the hands of Japan in June. They’ve had some mixed results these past couple of months, with two wins, a draw and two losses in their last five games. Juan Maximo Reynoso’s men will look to put their recent loss behind them as they make the trip to Paraguay.
Paraguay vs Peru head to head
These are two familiar foes who have squared off against each other on many occasions. Since September 2003, Paraguay and Peru met 18 times; and the Peruvians won 11 of those encounters, with three draws and four losses. However, recent skirmishes between these teams have been very one-sided; as Peru won nine of their last 10 meetings with Paraguay.
