The world number 20 Keys loves the French Open. She reached the semifinals back in 2018 and made it at least to round 3 in 6 of her last 8 appearances. Keys comfortably won the only previous meeting between the two way back in 2016.
Day has never been higher in the world rankings than 122 and she is yet to show much potential on the WTA tour. She has never beaten a top 20 player in her career and we don’t think Keys will waste any time on the court as she will seek a quick win with her ambition being to go deep in this tournament.

Madison Keys
The world number 20 Keys warmed up for the French Open with only 2 clay tournaments after she reached round 3 of the Australian Open earlier this year and had a few other decent runs on hard surfaces. Keys made it to the quarterfinals at Charleston in her first clay tournament. Then she also reached round 4 in Rome.
Keys loves Roland Garros and she has been very consistent every time she travels to Paris. Made at least round 3 in 6 of her last 8 appearances at the French Open and in 2018 reached the semifinals.
