In the second round, Zhang had one of the biggest wins of his careers as he turned things around against Denis Shapovalov winning by 6-7, 6-4 and 7-6. This is Zhang’s first time to make it to the third round on a ATP Masters tournament.

Norrie is currently in 13th place in the ATP rankings with his career-high being at No. 8. He is very active this season already playing 30 matches and winning 23 of them. On clay, the highest ranked Brit is 10-3. In his first match in Madrid this year, he defeated Yosuke Watanuki by 6-4 and 7-6. Earlier this season, Norrie won in Rio defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the finals after the Spaniard was the better one the previous week in the Buenos Aires final.
