Jannik Sinner has been on an absolute roll in recent months. Diego Schwartzman learnt this the hard way as he was bundled out 6-2, 6-4. While the Argentine has pedigree on clay court, the same cannot be said about Nishioka. The Japanese only ended his four-match losing streak and has a tall order on his hands. Expect Sinner to steamroll him and book his seventh successive ATP tournament quarterfinal placement.

Nishioka ended his four-match losing streak on the ATP tour with the dismantling of Goffin. He let his guard down against Goffin to trail 0-4 in the season set. A similar mistake cannot be made as Sinner has been laying waste to anyone who has stood in his path. With the exception of his 1-2 loss to Holger Rune in the Monte Carlo Masters semis, he has only dropped two sets in his last nine wins. With Nishioka struggling for form, expect a straight-sets victory for the Italian.

Despite being on hard times himself, Goffin made Nishioka to work hard for the win. The Belgian is no spring chicken but made sure a win over him is earned through sweat and tears. Nishioka would have been pleased to get a win under his belt after four matches but knows a tougher trial awaits him. His inability to save breakpoints against Goffin was jarring, especially given the fact the Belgian accrued more and stood his ground by saving more.
Jannik Sinner
For the second successive competition, Sinner had to overcome Schwartzman to forge his path ahead. His brilliance made the Argentine withdraw after 10 games, only one of which he could capitalize on. The injury woes may be behind Schwartzman but he was no match for the Italian, who romped to a 6-2, 6-4 victory for the second time of asking. An out of sorts Nishioka stands in his path for s seventh successive ATP tour quarter-final placement and he will be relishing the duel.
