As we enter day five of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, things are starting to heat up. While there are a few second-round matches still to finish today, the bulk of the games are for round three. And of course, I’ve produced several Wimbledon betting tips based on today’s lineup. There are some fantastic matches scheduled across the courts today too, which means that the odds for some of these picks are pretty high.
Of course, higher odds mean better returns if the bets pull through. This is something that I have also taken into account when producing these tips. Anyway, enough about the odds and matches – let’s get right into the picks!
Wimbledon Betting Tips for Day Five
Contents
Below you will find four picks for today’s matches at Wimbledon. Each pick has odds greater than 1.60, at least. So for me, these picks have true value. And all of the games are scheduled to be played today, pending no major weather disruptions!
Tiafoe vs Bublik – Tiafoe to win – 1.90 odds
One of the picks of the third-round games has to be this one, with Tiafoe taking on Bublik. These guys are not only charismatic and entertaining to watch, but they are also great players. However, I feel that Tiafoe has a slight edge over Bublik on grass, despite losing to him at Eastbourne the other week. Sure, Bublik has a monster serve and a big forehand, but Tiafoe is able to grind out some lengthy points better than he can.
And over the course of five sets instead of three, this makes a huge difference.
Paul vs Vesely – Vesely to win – 2.75 odds
Another interesting clash that is scheduled for today is Paul vs Vesely. These guys have played three times before, with Paul having a 2-1 record in his favour against Vesely. However, the one win that Vesely had against Paul was here at Wimbledon, where he beat him in straight sets back in 2019. Also, I am going for Vesely here due to the way in which he is serving, and because of his early results at Wimbledon this year.
Those ‘lefty’ serves will prove very hard for Paul to return, let alone getting a break of serve.
Humbert vs Goffin – Goffin to win – 1.66 odds
Here we have a battle between a rising Frenchman and an established player from Belgium. So of course, they are at different stages in their career. However, I have picked Goffin as one of my Wimbledon betting tips for a couple of reasons. Firstly, he has made it to the third round without dropping a set, so he is obviously playing well. Secondly, I feel that his game is better adapted to the grass compared with Humbert.
Zhang vs Garcia – Garcia to win – 1.72 odds
Finally, I am shooting for Garcia to take down Zhang in this third round of the women’s event. Garcia has been flawless on the grass in recent times, having won the event in Germany just last week. She also beat a home favourite in the form of Emma Raducanu in her last round. I was seriously impressed with her game in that match too, so I feel she should win here.
