Now that we are officially into the second week of Wimbledon, the tips are getting a little tastier. Of course, the games are getting tighter too, which is why you need to be a little more creative at times to find the best betting options! And just to clarify, all of the Wimbledon betting tips I am about to provide are all taking place today – day eight. All of the games discussed are fourth-round clashes, so the amount on the line for the players is just going up and up.
I say this in every sense. For some, it is their first chance at making it to a Grand Slam quarter-final. And for others, it’s a chance to fulfil their talents and justify the hype surrounding them. Anyway, we’re not here to discuss the background stories, we are here to identify some top tips for today’s games. And that’s precisely what you will find throughout the rest of the information given here.
Wimbledon Betting Tips for Day Eight
The number of games being played each day might be decreasing as we head deeper into the event. But this doesn’t mean that there aren’t plenty of great markets to bet on. Of course, I’ve looked at the games to see what the best bets would be. And I’ve also cross-referenced this with the respective bookmaker odds to see whether the possible returns are worthwhile. That’s how I have created the Wimbledon betting tips for today, as seen below:
Kubler vs Fritz – Kubler to win a set @ 1.66 odds
This match could be more interesting than most people think. Fritz is the heavy favourite, hands down, but Kubler has been playing some great tennis. He has made it through qualifying and dispatched Jack Sock in five sets in the previous win. And now he faces another American in the form of Taylor Fritz. As stated previously, Fritz is the favourite and should really win the match. But I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Kubler managed to win a set.
Cornet vs Tomljanovic – Cornet @ 1.72 odds
Switching my attention to the ladies’ singles now, I think that Cornet has a great chance of beating Tomljanovic. It’s pretty tough to bet against the player that just ended the Swiatek streak on Centre Court. And actually, I think that Cornet is playing great tennis too. She’s an experienced player with a good head on her shoulders, and her game matches up well against Tomljanovic.
Badosa vs Halep – Halep @ 1.53 odds
Badosa might be the higher-ranked player of these two. But as you can see, Halep is the favourite with odds of 1.53. This is the case because she is a previous champion and she generally has a better grass-court game compared with Badosa. Halep also beat Badosa earlier this season by 2-0 in sets. So this might also give her the mental advantage ahead of this 4th round game. Either way, I really do believe that Halep will win, as she has been having a great tournament so far.
