Tommy Paul vs Francisco Cerundolo Prediction and Odds: Canadian Open 2023

Paul is one of the best American players at the moment and has huge ambitions before the US Open, where he reached the semifinals last year. In the second round of the National Bank Open he will face Francisco Cerundolo.

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

Tommy Paul vs Francisco Cerundolo – Match Predictions

These two players know each other very well, and each of their previous three matches has gone to the third set. Given their form and the stakes, this will be another tennis battle.

Tommy Paul to win

Paul entered the season targeting a Top 10 spot but hasn’t played particularly well this season. Still, he is very good on a hard surface and will prove that against Cerundolo. The Argentinian barely made it to the second round and will not be ready to be a real threat to Paul.

First set over 9.5 games

All of the opening sets in the previous three matches between Paul and Cerundolo have gone over 9.5 games and there is no reason why that would not be the case this time. They are not excellent servers but still hold the majority of their games since they move well on the court.

Tommy Paul vs Francisco Cerundolo Preview

Both Paul and Cerundolo can be dark-horse candidates to go deep in the National Bank Open. They faced each other in a final match earlier this season and Paul is extra motivated after that loss.
