Ready for more tennis predictions today concerning Wimbledon 2024? I’ve got several hot tips for the clash between Fritz and Zverev – check them out below.
Our favourite Taylor Fritz vs Alexander Zverev predictions
Contents
Big-hitting and serious serving are guaranteed in this fourth-round clash at Wimbledon. This will be the 9th meeting between these two, and Zverev has the edge in the head-to-head department. Interestingly, this will be the 3rd time they’ve played at Wimbledon too.
So, will it be third time lucky for Fritz, or will Zverev bulldoze him once again? Here are my predictions:
Over 42.5 games @ 8/11 (1.73)
In both of the previous meetings between these two at Wimbledon, the match has had over 42.5 games. Therefore, I certainly think that the upcoming match has the same potential, especially with the form that both guys are in.
Fritz +1.5 set handicap @ 7/10 (1.70)
If I had to pick a winner for this match, I’d probably go with Fritz. However, I believe it’s a 50:50 toss-up as to who might win. So, for that reason, I’ve looked beyond the moneyline options to find value in a Fritz +1.5 set handicap. If the American serves well and dominates with his forehand, this is very possible.
Taylor Fritz vs Alexander Zverev odds
The most recent moneyline odds indicate a 43.50% probability for Fritz compared with a 64.50% chance for Zverev winning this match.
Big serving battle set for Wimbledon 2024 fourth round
Let’s take a closer look at our contenders before they face off on Monday.
Taylor Fritz preview
Fritz is a bit of a grass court veteran at this point in his career. He’s a previous quarter-finalist at Wimbledon, reaching the quarters in 2022 before losing to Nadal. And he’s lost just one set en route to the fourth round this year. When he hits his stride, Fritz can be ruthless, but he has a 0-2 record against Zverev at Wimbledon, so he will need to step it up here.
Alexander Zverev preview
Zverev enters this match as the slight favourite, and for good reason. He’s reached the semis or further in both slams in 2024, and he seems as confident as he’s ever been on the grass. Furthermore, Zverev is yet to lose a set, so he’s clearly on a mission this year. He will have extra confidence since he’s beaten Fritz in both previous meetings at Wimbledon, too.
Fritz vs Zverev head to head
Zverev and Fritz have an extended history on the ATP Tour. They’ve played one another nine times professionally, and Zverev has the slight edge with a 5-3 record against Fritz. Interestingly, they’ve swapped wins for the last 6 matches against one another, and Zverev won the last match in Rome. So, could it be Fritz’s time to shine and take out Zverev at SW19?
