I’m sure you don’t need any introduction to the legend that is Serena Williams. From a purely selfish perspective when thinking of the future of professional tennis, I’m pretty excited that her next baby will be a girl. Why? Well, the legendary dynasty of Serena and Venus Williams is part of the reason – if the girls decide that they want to pursue professional tennis.
However, according to Serena, her five-year-old isn’t a huge tennis fan, despite the fact that she’s apparently quite talented at the game. But who knows, kids can change their minds quickly, and it would be pretty cool if Serena Williams’ kids both pursued professional tennis. Anyway, that’s rather speculative at this point.
So rather than getting ahead of myself, let’s focus on the exciting baby news that was announced recently.

Before I run the risk of misleading people, it was public knowledge that Serena Williams was pregnant prior to the recent announcement. This was by no means a secret. But while we all knew that Williams was expecting another child, we didn’t know the gender – nor did Serena Williams or her husband, Alexis Ohanian. Therefore, the party where the gender of the child was revealed was exactly that – a ‘gender reveal’ party as opposed to an announcement to the world about Williams’ pregnancy.
As for what you might have missed from this party in terms of how the reveal went down and who was in attendance, let me give a few specifics.
Specifics of Serena Williams’ Gender Reveal Party
Interestingly enough, Serena Williams decided to attend her own gender reveal party wearing a pink top to let everyone know what she was hoping for. The entire party was streamed through a YouTube Vlog less than 24 hours ago, at the time of writing. And for those who tuned in, it was pretty heart-warming to see that Williams was so excited about the prospect of welcoming another little girl into the world. At the same time, she even declared herself as ‘team pink’ during the party.
Needless to say, her thoughts on the potential gender of the child were pretty clear. However, Williams’ husband wasn’t about to let Serena steal the spotlight for the entire event. Rather than ordering the standard blue or pink cake, or a mixture of the two, he decided to order a yellow cake to throw Serena and their daughter off. After watching their faces, this seemed to work rather well, and it definitely added a bit of humor to the party.
As for the big reveal of Serena Williams’ baby, this was done in style. The couple had arranged for the reveal to be done in the night sky through the use of drones. And when everybody looked up above to wait for the announcement, the drones lit up the darkness with the word ‘girl’ sparkling in the air. I must say, this was a pretty cool gender reveal, and I’d recommend watching the video if you get a chance.
When We Can Expect Serena Williams’ Daughter to Arrive
Now that the gender of the baby has been revealed, there is just one missing piece to the puzzle. That piece is when the baby will arrive. With that said, Serena Williams hasn’t given an exact date for the arrival of her second daughter. But if we use the fairly typical 12-week mark for the announcement of the pregnancy, which was back in May, I would assume that the baby is set to arrive in November or December of 2023.
Of course, this is a pretty wide window, but it’s about as close as we can get for an estimate. Yet regardless of when the baby comes, this is a very exciting time for Serena Williams and her family.
