One of the top seeds, Coco Gauff, is about to start her campaign at the Stuttgart Open against a qualifier, Sachia Vickery. This all-American affair should be a fun one to watch, and I’ve supplied my tennis predictions today right here. Of course, other predictions are also provided for this event if you wish to read them separately!

Our favourite Sachia Vickery vs Coco Gauff predictions

As the number 3 player in the world right now, Coco Gauff is a force to be reckoned with. Her opponent, however, is ranked outside of the top 100. This means the upcoming second round match of the 2024 Stuttgart Open could be quite one-sided.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t cover some high-value markets, which I’ve highlighted and explained below:

Gauff -6.5 games handicap @ 4/5 (1.80)

Since there’s no value in covering Gauff to just win the match, I’ve gone for this market instead. She needs to dismantle Vickery for this market to be a winner, but given her clay court resume, I believe this is more than possible.

Set 1 – under 8.5 games @ 10/11 (1.91)

Vickery might have a few matches under her belt at the Stuttgart Open, but she faces a player in a different league for this one. Furthermore, Gauff has a super consistent game style, so she’s unlikely to make a string of unforced errors and hand her opponent a number of games. She’s normally a fast starter, too, which is why I find this market appealing.

Sachia Vickery vs Coco Gauff odds

Based on the latest odds, Gauff’s chance of winning this match is 94.10%. However, Vickery’s probability of pulling through is just 11.10%.

Which American will move into the quarter-finals of the Stuttgart Open?

These competitive Americans are set to take to the court on April 17th. But before that time arrives, let me supply a quick preview to round off this match breakdown.

Sachia Vickery preview

Sachia Vickery is a name you probably aren’t familiar with. At 28 years of age, she’s never been at the top of the tree, which is a completely different story compared to her opponent. Additionally, having watched her play recently, I can’t say her style suits the indoor, heavy clay courts in Stuttgart.

Coco Gauff preview

Gauff obviously picked up her first Grand Slam title at the US Open in 2023. This is a hard court event, of course, but her clay court game is actually very good. Don’t forget, she’s made the finals of Roland Garros in the past, and this doesn’t happen by chance. At the same time, she’s ranked significantly higher than her opponent at 3 in the world.

Vickery vs Gauff head to head

These two aren’t overly close in ranking, as I’ve shown in the previews above. Additionally, they’ve never played competitively against one another in a WTA tournament. This makes the game a little more interesting – especially since it will be played on clay.
