Ready to view more tennis predictions today covering the 2024 Madrid Open? I’ve got two markets with appealing odds relating to the clash between Montgomery and Sabalenka. Check out all of the details below.

Our favourite Robin Montgomery vs Aryna Sabalenka predictions

As the defending champion and number 2 seed, Sabalenka is heavily favoured to win this match. However, Montgomery has earned the right to take on this challenging opponent, as she’s beaten two solid players to reach the third round.

But with the huge difference in rankings and Sabalenka’s abilities on clay, I’ve chosen the following markets:

Sabalenka to win 2-0 @ 2/5 (1.40)

There isn’t much value in covering Sabalenka to simply win this match. But for the straight sets win, the odds are far more appealing. Additionally, I feel that a 2-0 win for the 2nd seed is a very likely outcome, which is why this is my first prediction.

Under 19.5 games @ 4/5 (1.80)

Since I believe that Sabalenka will get the job done in straight sets, I feel that this market is also worth covering. Of course, if Sabalenka brings her A game, she could dispatch Montgomery with ease. And anything better than a 6-3 6-4 win (or something similar) will bring this market across the line.

Robin Montgomery vs Aryna Sabalenka odds

Montgomery has an implied win probability of just 15.40% while the chance of Sabalenka getting the win here is 90% – based on the latest odds.

Sabalenka set to blast past Montgomery in round three

Now you’ve got my two predictions in mind for this match, let me shift things over to a couple of quick player previews.

Robin Montgomery preview

Robin Montgomery was given a wildcard entry into the Madrid Open. She’s certainly made the most of it too, as she’s won two matches already to reach the third round. Furthermore, since her ranking was 183 prior to this tournament, she will shoot up the rankings no matter what happens against Sabalenka. But with her current level and experience in these kinds of tournaments, competing with Sabalenka is a tall order.

Aryna Sabalenka preview

I’m sure you don’t need too much of an introduction for Aryna Sabalenka. As referenced earlier, she’s the defending champion at the Madrid Open, so she clearly has some skills on red clay. At the same time, she’s ranked 2 in the world, which makes her the 2nd seed for the event behind only Iga Swiatek. And while she survived a three-set scare against Linette in round two, I think she will get her act together for an efficient win over Montgomery.

Montgomery vs Sabalenka head to head

These two have never actually played on the WTA Tour. Then again, Montgomery is just 19 years of age, so it’s not exactly surprising that they’ve never competed against one another in an official WTA event.
