There’s a new youngster in town, and she’s here to challenge the biggest names in the game. Of course, I’m referencing the upcoming quarter-final match between Andreeva and Sabalenka. As for my tennis predictions today, you can read all about them for this game below.

Our favourite Mirra Andreeva vs Aryna Sabalenka predictions

The French Open is now very much at the business end, and while some names were expected to be in the quarters, others weren’t. Regardless, the unseeded Andreeva has carved her way through to the quarters to challenge the 2nd seed, Sabalenka. And it’s all to play for in this exciting battle.

As for where the value lies with respect to the betting markets, let me point those out now:

Sabalenka to win 2-0 @ 8/11 (1.73)

Because Sabalenka has recently taken out this teenager in straight sets, I feel this gives her a solid chance of doing the same again here. However, I believe that Andreeva has grown in confidence since they played in Madrid. And for that reason, I think the sets could be pretty close.

Andreeva +5.5 games handicap @ 8/13 (1.62)

When you think about it, for this market to occur, Andreeva only needs to get within a couple of games of Sabalenka in a two set match. Based on her level at Roland Garros in 2024, I believe this is very possible – especially since she’s lost just one set en route to the quarters.

Mirra Andreeva vs Aryna Sabalenka odds

Looking at the most recent odds, Andreeva has a 25% chance of winning this match compared with an 81.80% probability for Sabalenka.

Dominance vs youth – who will come out on top?

Let’s move away from tips and predictions now and look at how these players are shaping up ahead of the quarters:

Mirra Andreeva preview

Mirra Andreeva is one of the most exciting youngsters on the WTA Tour. She is incredibly talented, and she is now looking like she belongs on the biggest stages. This was shown in her win over Azarenka earlier in the tournament, and she’s kept the momentum going – taking her into her very first Grand Slam quarter-final here.

Aryna Sabalenka preview

Compared with Andreeva, Sabalenka would be considered a veteran of the WTA Tour. Of course, she’s the world number 2, and she’s a multiple Grand Slam winner, which puts her as the favourite to win this match. Interestingly, Sabalenka beat Andreeva’s sister in the first round, too, so there’s a chance she could do the double over the sisters here.

Andreeva vs Sabalenka head to head

This is growing into the kind of rivalry that many of us anticipated when Andreeva first appeared on the scene. But for now, Sabalenka holds the bragging rights with a 2-0 head-to-head record over her teenage opponent. The most recent of these wins was in the 2024 Madrid Open, too, which could prove significant.
