Madison Keys is back in the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the third time in her professional career. Although the 28-year-old has never claimed a Grand Slam, there is still time for her to do it.

Madison Keys is back on the tennis courts after failing in Washington. The 28-year-old USA’s star needs a great achievement to be considered one of the greatest in the world.

Last year things were not so good in Canada, but she will look for something better this time. Getting through the second round will already be very beneficial for her but she aims higher than that.

It was a semi-fruitful year for Madison Keys, who reached the US Open semi-finals while claiming the Eastbourne International trophy and triumphing with Team USA in the United Cup. She couldn’t get out of the group stages in the WTA Elite Trophy and will be gunning to start the 2024 campaign on the right footing.

Preferring to limit her event participation since her injury concerns in 2021, it seems Keys will follow the same path in current campaign. While she had competitive minutes in the United Cup last time around, she will come to Melbourne with just practice sessions under her belt. She has two semi-final appearances at the Rod Laver Arena and will want to emulate that success this time around as well.

Keys return to the court after a month’s layoff did not go according to plan. She suffered a straight-set loss to Beatriz Haddad Maia, making it three defeats in succession for her. In her next outing at the WTA Elite Trophy, she takes on the challenge of Caroline Garcia.

Like Keys, Garcia also suffered a defeat in her first outing at the WTA Elite Trophy. While the American could not take a set off Haddad-Maia, Garcia delivered a blow to Jasmine Paolini but did not have enough in the tank to get the job done.

She will have to improve on her outing against Paolini as she has a 4-1 losing record against Keys. He only victory came in the 2014 Billie Jean King Cup and since then, has lost to Keys in four successive outings.

This season, the experienced tennis player has won a couple of awards. The first came at the United Cup, where she competed alongside Jessica Pegula, Frances Tiafoe, and Taylor Fritz, who formed the US Team.

It took Keys six months to earn her maiden singles title. Madison had numerous excellent moments in Eastbourne that helped her win the championship.

This season, Madison’s debt has been her poor performance in important tournaments. So far, she had not advanced past the third round of a Grand Slam and has only reached the quarterfinals of a Masters tournament.
