The 22-year-old has gone through the qualifiers to find his way to the main draw at the Rosmalen Open. In the qualifiers, he defeated Robin Haase and Ricardas Berankis. In the opening round of the main draw, Hijikata defeated Gijs Brouwer 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 and in the round of 16, he defeated Marc Andrea Huesler 2-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Earlier this year, Hijikata won the challenger in Burnie without losing and set in the five matches.
