The 2024 Wimbledon semi-finals are set. And for my tennis predictions today, I’ve supplied tips for the intriguing matchup between Musetti and Djokovic. Check out all of the details below.
Our favourite Lorenzo Musetti vs Novak Djokovic predictions
Contents
What a match-up we have on our hands for this battle! The young and extremely talented Italian, Musetti, is in his very first Wimbledon semi-final. As for Djokovic, he’s won the title seven times, so understandably, Djokovic is the favourite to win. However, what are the best markets to cover for this clash based on the latest odds?
Let me give you the answers and justifications right now.
Musetti to win a set – yes @ 4/5 (1.80)
I know that Djokovic is a far superior grass court player compared with Musetti. However, Musetti looks to be playing great tennis at Wimbledon this year, and Djokovic may be a little sluggish, having received a free pass in the previous round. Additionally, Musetti has taken at least a set from Djokovic in their previous two Grand Slam meetings.
Over 34.5 games @ 4/5 (1.80)
Assuming the talented Italian snags a set from Novak Djokovic, there’s every chance that this match will consist of more than 34.5 games. Of course, this requires the match to go more than three sets, which I think is a distinct possibility for this encounter.
Lorenzo Musetti vs Novak Djokovic odds
Based on the most recent moneyline odds, Musetti has an 18.20% chance of winning this match, while Djokovic has a probability of 88.20%.
Can Musetti finally take out Djokovic in a Grand Slam?
This should be a great match, and I’ve given further details on these guys through the following previews:
Lorenzo Musetti preview
Musetti probably wasn’t on the radar of many pundits prior to Wimbledon 2024. Nevertheless, he has battled hard and taken down the likes of Taylor Fritz to reach this point. That said, it’s the first time Musetti has reached a Grand Slam semi-final, and he’s facing a guy who has won the tournament seven times. This is about the fiercest challenge he could hope for at this stage.
Novak Djokovic preview
While many of us were excited about the prospect of Novak Djokovic facing de Minaur in the quarter-finals, unfortunately, the Aussie was forced to withdraw. This means Djokovic received a bye to the semi-finals, while Musetti went the distance with Taylor Fritz. Of course, this suggests that Djokovic will be the fresher of the two, although the knee has been and will remain a concern until the tournament is over.
Musetti vs Djokovic head to head
Looking at the head-to-head between these two coming into the Wimbledon semi-finals, it’s Djokovic who has bragging rights with a 5-1 H2H over the Italian. He has beaten Musetti in both of their matches played in 2024, too, which will inevitably add to the edge Djokovic has here.
