When Roger Federer proposed organizing a tournament to honor the iconic Rod Laver’s career, the Swiss player had no idea it would be where he would retire. This will be one of the memories that will make us revisit every Laver Cup edition.

Many players will be competing for the first time in both the European and World teams this year. The start time of each match may be seen on the daily Laver Cup Schedule.

Laver Cup order of play – Day 3

The final day of the Laver Cup 2023 has arrived, and the outcome has been odd thus far. For the first time in the event’s six editions, Team World dominates the scoring by a 10-2 margin. This puts the representatives of the red squad just one win away from capturing their second title and closing in on squad Europe’s four titles.

Match 9 – Hurkacz/Rublebvs Shelton/Tiafoe

19:00

The seasoned Hubert Hurkacz and Gael Monfils will keep Team Europe’s aspirations alive. Both are in debt to their respective teams after losing their singles matches.

On the final day, Shelton and Tiafoe will represent Team World. The youngster has already won two matches, one in singles and one in doubles. Similarly, Frances Tiafoe will have a chance to capture the title for the red team for the second year in a row.

Match 10 – Casper Ruud vs Taylor Fritz

21:00

One of the most fascinating aspects of the Laver Cup is that we get to see more than one duel between players who rarely meet. Taylor Fritz and Casper Ruud faced one other on the same stage for the first time at the conclusion of last year. They put up a three-set show, as planned.

Fritz wants his team to win the doubles to make it necessary, but tennis fans are hoping for a finish like Team World provided us last year. Both players will be ready for whatever happens in the doubles encounter.

Match 11 – Andrey Rublev vs Frances Tiafoe

23:00

On this third day, everyone is expecting a major response from Team World, who now has two points. In the opening doubles match, Frances Tiafoe will have a chance to seal the title. If he and Shelton fail, and it is Fritz who loses against Ruud, it will be a rematch of last season’s final.

Remember that in the previous Laver Cup, Tiafoe played the third match of the third day, defeating Stefanos Tsisipas to win the world team’s first Laver Cup. Andrey Rublev, on the other hand, will not make things easy, and if the Russian wins in doubles, they will go even harder in singles.

Match 12 – Hubert Hurkacz vs Felix Auger-Aliassime

01:00

To turn the result around and reclaim the championship, Team Europe must sweep all duels on Day 3. Only if Team Europe wins will we witness Polish tennis player Hubert Hurkacz face on Felix Auger-Aliassime, one of the architects of last year’s Team World trophy.

Because of the high stakes involved, I’m confident this will be a thrilling duel. If this match 12 goes on, it will be the fourth time these socialists have met. Auger-Aliassime now leads the series 2-1.
