As I am sure you know, the Laver Cup will be starting imminently. Once again, Team Europe will be taking on Team World in a classic showdown. Yet there is something a little extra special about this year’s event. Of course, this is the last official event that the great Roger Federer will ever compete in as a professional tennis player. So while we are all excited about the 2022 Laver Cup, there is an element of sadness to the tournament too.
But let’s not focus on the negatives! Let us focus on the upcoming tennis that promises to be incredibly entertaining for those at home and for those who can make it to the O2 Arena. On that note, I would like to share the key information relating to the schedule for the Laver Cup. It’s a three-day event beginning on Friday, September 23rd, and ends on Sunday, September 25th.
Throughout the three-day exhibition event, there will be 12 matches played in total – 4 each day. So this shows that plenty of tennis is about to be played. However, you are no doubt looking for some specific details on the schedule rather than a broad overview. For that reason, let me provide such specifics right now.
2022 Laver Cup Breakdown of Matches

We have known that the Laver Cup will be played between September 23rd and 25th for quite some time. But the exact matches, players, and timings were only revealed recently. Anyway, with the event about to begin, let’s not waste any time with introductions. Let’s reveal the exact schedule for all three days:
Day One – September 23rd
Kicking things off on Friday, September 23rd, the Laver Cup will open with a singles match. The two guys involved in this match are Casper Ruud and Jack Sock. As for the scheduled start time, this is the day session, and the planned start time is 1 PM (GMT). Following the conclusion of this singles match, there will be another singles game between Tsitsipas and Schwartzman. That will wrap up the day session.
Then it’s time for the night session, and boy is this one going to be a corker! Andy Murray is set to play Alex de Minaur in singles at 7 PM. And once this finishes, the next match is the highly anticipated doubles involving Nadal/Federer vs Sock/Tiafoe.
Day Two – September 24th
Moving to Saturday, September 24th, the same start time applies for the singles matches in terms of the day session. As a reminder, this means that the action will start at 1 PM, and this session will involve two singles matches. Once the day session concludes, there is an interval before the night session begins at 7 PM. And much like day one, the night session is set to have one singles and one doubles match.
Day Three – September 25th
On Sunday, September 25th, this is when the 2022 Laver Cup will come to an end. However, there is no night and day session here. Instead, there is just one session that begins at 12 PM, and rather than 3 singles and a doubles match, there will be 4 singles matches. Just note that if one team manages to win (overall) before the set schedule, exhibition matches will take their place.
