This will definitely be a tough match, with both players having many ups and downs lately. Parks won their previous match this year, and she seems better prepared. Being seven years younger than Davis also goes in her favor, given the conditions in Guadalajara. Parks has a much stronger serve and forehand and playing on a hard surface will give her the benefit to take advantage of it.

This will be her first match after the US Open where she lost in the second round, 6-7, 6-4, 6-3 to Kaja Juvan. In the opening round, Davis defeated Danka Kovinic 6-2, 6-2.
Davis’ best result this season is the title in Hobart which was her first since 2019. She also made it to the semifinals in Reus and Strasbourg.
This will be her second appearance in Guadalajara, after losing in the opening round last year.
Alycia Parks
Alycia Parks is 46th in the rankings, six spots lower than her career high. The 22-year-old is 17-22 for the season and 6-10 on hard surface.
She is coming off a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 loss in the opening round in San Diego to Anastasia Potapova. Previously, she lost the opener at the US Open to Darya Kasatkina, also in three sets.
Parks’ best result this season was winning the title in Lyon where she defeated a Top 10 player in the final – Caroline Garcia.
Last year, she made her debut in Guadalajara but failed to get out of the qualifying round.
