Karolina Pliskova vs Shuai Zhang – Match Predictions
Contents
Both players are in the top 30 seeds in Melbourne – Pliskova (30) and Zhang (23) – however, prior to the tournament, neither were expected to get as far as the quarter finals in anyone’s tennis predictions!
Pliskova To win
It has been a straight forward journey to the fourth round for Pliskova who is still yet to drop a set along the way. Across her previous three rounds, she has dropped no more than a total of six games in either match.
Zhang has looked very good but has dropped one set on her journey to this stage. History tells us that Zhang has never beaten Pliskova and we do not expect her to break her duck in this match.
Total Games – Over 20.5
It has been a long time since these two last played each other, and the world is certainly a different place than in 2018! However, we can still read into those previous meetings for clues for today. Each of the last three meetings went to three sets with the players very well matched.
We may not go to a third set in Melbourne but we expect each set to go the distance!
