Thompson is much younger that Gasquet and is still in his prime which cannot be said about the Frenchman. They both see a chance to win at the Spanish island as the competition is not as strong as the previous tournaments. Anyway, Gasquet is the better one on grass and will win this one despite the odds going in Thompson’s favor.

Gasquet is a former world No. 7 who currently sits in No. 49. The Frenchman is 15-17 for the season and 2-2 on grass. Last week, the 37-year-old lost in the opening round of Halle Open by Jannik Sinner. Previously, he made it to the quarterfinals in Stuttgart losing to Jan-Lennard Struff. Gasquet won one title this season, in Auckland in January.
