Our favourite Jannik Sinner vs Stefanos Tsitsipas predictions
Contents
As the very first match in the Green Group, the big-hitting Italian, Jannik Sinner, is set to face the crafty Greek, Stefanos Tsitsipas. Interestingly, Tsitsipas dominates Sinner in the head-to-head department, enjoying a 5-2 lead going into this one. But Sinner has been in great form of late, so what does this mean for the best markets to bet on? Check them out here.
Sinner to win 2-0 @ 13/10 (2.30)
For the first of my two ATP Finals 2023 predictions for this match, I am taking Sinner to get the job done in straight sets. The last time these two met on an indoor hard court, which was in Rotterdam this season, Sinner smoked Tsitsipas 6-4 6-3. And I feel that if he plays how he has been playing recently, this result could well be replicated.
Tsitsipas +3.5 games handicap @ 8/15 (1.53)
As per the latest odds for Sinner vs Tsitsipas, it’s clear that the Greek isn’t the favourite to win. This creates an opportunity for a handicap wager of +3.5, which I feel is a solid ‘value bet’. After all, while Sinner has been playing well recently, we can’t forget that Tsitsipas has beaten him on five separate occasions!
Jannik Sinner vs Stefanos Tsitsipas odds
Breaking down the probability for each guy to win here, Sinner has a 67.70% chance of winning based on the latest 10/21 odds. As for Tsitsipas, his chance to win is just 40% win probability due to the 6/4 odds.
Sinner looking to impress home fans with opening win
Let’s look at how these guys stack up against one another with a couple of quick previews before moving to the head-to-head data.
Jannik Sinner preview
Currently, Jannik Sinner is ranked 4th in the world. And since the 2023 US Open, he has won 2 of the 4 tournaments he has played. During these events, he’s recorded a win over Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev (twice), and Andrey Rublev. So clearly, he’s in fine form at the moment!
Stefanos Tsitsipas preview
In contrast to Sinner, Tsitsipas has been up and down lately. He has lost to numerous players outside of the top 100, and he only just qualified for the ATP Finals 2023 last week – a last-ditch effort! Then again, he has made back-to-back semi-finals in his last two tournaments, so his form is improving.
Sinner vs Tsitsipas head-to-head
Despite Sinner being heavily favoured to win here, the head-to-head record doesn’t look too great for the young Italian. He has lost to Tsitsipas five times, while he has beaten him just twice.
Then again, this win came in February 2023 – the last time these guys played each other. Four of these seven matches have been on clay too, which also helps us in determining the most appropriate Jannik Sinner vs Stefanos Tsitsipas prediction.
