Are you one of the many tennis fans wondering about the Jannik Sinner 2024 Grand Slam chances for the coming season? Given the way that the young Italian has finished 2023, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were. He has ended the season in quite incredible fashion.
In case you missed it, Sinner won his very first Masters 1000 title in Canada. This tournament took place in August 2023, and for me, this showed us what his intentions were when closing out the 2023 season. Of course, he went on to make the final of the 2023 ATP Finals, while recently helping Italy to clinch the Davis Cup trophy too.
As a result of all of Sinner’s triumphs in the latter stages of the season, he is now ranked number 4 in the world. Yet with two victories over the world number one within a two-week period, understandably, pundits have one important question on their minds. What are the Jannik Sinner Grand Slam chances in 2024?
By this, I specifically mean, what are the chances that Sinner wins a Grand Slam in the 2024 season? So, now that the question has been clearly outlined, let me shift gears and move forward with the answer.

To get right to it, I firmly believe that Jannik Sinner deserves to be in the discussion for a possible Grand Slam title in 2024. He has made major improvements to his game throughout 2023. And besides maybe Carlos Alcaraz, he has the best chances of earning a slam next season besides the obvious contender – Novak Djokovic.
However, the fact that Novak Djokovic is still heavily favored to win several slams next year poses an interesting debate. As mentioned above, Jannik Sinner has defeated Novak Djokovic twice in recent weeks. Let’s not forget – he had never beaten Djokovic prior to the ATP Finals.
So the fact that he has backed this up with another win over Djokovic so soon afterward will give him mountains of confidence. Adding to that, as they say in many sports, to be the best, you’ve got to take out the best. And there is absolutely no denying that Jannik Sinner has been able to do this recently.
Therefore, it’s almost a given that the Jannik Sinner 2024 Grand Slam chances have been given a serious boost due to his performances in recent weeks/months. But does he really have what it takes to win one of the four Grand Slam tournaments? After all, winning a slam is very different from winning a Masters 1000 event or the Davis Cup.
It requires an individual to win seven successive matches against the best players in the world. At the same time, this must be done under the best-of-five set format, which adds another dynamic to the difficulty of winning a slam!
Jannik Sinner 2024 Grand Slam chances – his best opportunities
Since I’ve referenced above that I feel that Jannik Sinner certainly has what it takes to win a Grand Slam in 2024, I must complement this by highlighting which ones he might win. On that note, I believe that there are two tournaments where Jannik Sinner has the best opportunity to win the entire event.
So without further ado, let me highlight these tournaments while explaining why these are the best Jannik Sinner 2024 Grand Slam chances:
Wimbledon 2024
The reasons that I’ve chosen Wimbledon will soon become quite obvious, so let me explain. First and foremost, this is the Grand Slam where Jannik Sinner has made it furthest into the draw out of them all. Specifically, he made the semi-finals of Wimbledon in 2023, although he lost to Novak Djokovic in that round.
To make this story even more interesting, he held a 2-0 lead over Djokovic in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2022. Of course, he ultimately lost that match, but this shows that it’s Novak Djokovic who has stopped Sinner at Wimbledon for two straight years.
Yet now that Sinner has managed to conquer Djokovic on two separate occasions, one has to assume that this might alter the dynamic between the two for next season. It’s not just this that makes me bring up Wimbledon for the Jannik Sinner 2024 Grand Slam chances, however.
This is the Grand Slam where Sinner has his best winning percentage at 75%. And for me, the way he strikes the ball, and the way he plays in general, makes the grass courts of Wimbledon the perfect fit.
US Open 2024
In addition to Wimbledon 2024, I really feel that the 2024 US Open could be a breakthrough tournament for Jannik Sinner. As for the reasons why, they are very similar to the reasons provided for Wimbledon 2024.
Specifically, the conditions in New York at that time of year are perfect for Sinner’s game. The courts are rapid, the ball flies through the air, and the US Open has always served those players with ‘weapons’ very well. Of course, Sinner has plenty of weapons to speak of too.
He has a fantastic serve, a huge forehand, and he can blitz guys off the court these days. However, the furthest he has gone at the US Open is the quarter-finals, which he managed to achieve in 2022.
Ironically, he had a match point in that game against Carlos Alcaraz, and we all know what happened to Alcaraz in that tournament – he won it!
