Guadalajara 2023 betting odds – top seeds and their chances

The Guadalajara Open will take place from 17-23 September at the Panamerican Tennis Center in Guadalajara, Mexico. 1. Ons Jabeur 8/1 (9.00)

2. Maria Sakkari 11/1 (12.00)

Sakkari is still holding to a spot among the top 10 players, sitting ninth, but she is in a real crisis. The Greek lost five consecutive semifinals this season before making it to the final in Washington, but still failed to win the trophy. She is the second seed in Guadalajara but given the odds, the fourth favorite to win the tournament. Sakkari is 29-19 for the season and 17-11 on hard surface. She has lost 3 of the last 5 matches and will start against the winner of the match between Storm Hunter and Iryna Shymanovich. Last year, Sakkari reached the final in Guadalajara where she lost to Jessica Pegula 6-2, 6-3.

3. Caroline Garcia 16/1 (17.00)

Garcia is another player who expected more of this season. She is 10th in the rankings and has not won a title this year after winning four last season. The 29-year-old is 32-21 for the season and 16-13 on hard surface. Despite being the third seed in the tournament, Garcia is eighth on the list of favorites. In the second round, Garcia will play against the winner of the match between Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Arantxa Rus. Last year she reached the round of 16 in Guadalajara losing to Sloane Stephens.

4. Madison Keys 9/1 (10.00)

Keys is 11th in the WTA rankings and she almost made it to the US Open final, losing two tie-breaks after a perfect set against the world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka. Keys is the fourth seed in Guadalajara and the second favorite to win. The American is 33-12 for the season and 19-8 on hard surface and won the tournament in. In the second round, Keys will play against the winner of the match between Emma Navarro and a qualifier. Last year she reached the round of 16 in Guadalajara losing to Victoria Azarenka.

5. Belinda Bencic 15/1 (16.00)

Bencic is currently 15th in the WTA rankings. The Swiss player lost in the opening round in San Diego after reaching the third round at the US Open. She is 31-13 for the season and 24-10 on hard surface. The 26-year-old has won two tournaments this season – in Abu Dhabi and Adelaide. In the second round, Bencic will play against the winner of the match between Ajla Tomljanovic and Taylor Townsend. Last year she reached the second round in Guadalajara losing to Sloane Stephens.

6. Jelena Ostapenko 11/1 (12.00)

Ostapenko is the sixth seed and the third favorite to win the tournament. The 2017 French Open champion is 33-18 for the season and 18-12 on hard surface. She managed to defeat Iga Swiatek at the US Open before losing to Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals. The Latvian won the title in Birmingham earlier this year. In the second round in Guadalajara, Ostapenko will play against the winner of the match between Marta Kostyuk and Stacey Fung. Last year she reached the round of 16 in Guadalajara losing to Veronika Kudermetova.

7. Veronika Kudermetova 19/1 (20.00)

Kudermetova is 18th in the WTA rankings and the seventh seed in Guadalajara. The 26-year-old is 26-18 for the season and 11-11 on hard surface. She is coming to Mexico after losing the last three matches in straight sets. The last time the Russian won a title was in 2021 and her best results this year were the final in Hertogenbosch and the semis in Rome, Madrid, Doha and Adelaide. In the second round in Guadalajara, Ostapenko will play against the winner of the match between Renata Zarazua and Eugenie Bouchard. 8. Ekaterina Alexandrova 15/1 (16.00)

Alexandrova is 19th in the WTA rankings. She is 29-17 for the season and 13-9 on hard. She reached the third round at the US Open and then lost the first match in San Diego. Her best result this season is the title in Hertogenbosch. In the second round in Guadalajara, Ostapenko will play against the winner of the match between Camila Osorio and Marta Frech.
