Now that the quarter-finals have arrived in Paris, I’m truly excited to share some more tennis predictions today for a key contest. The match in question here is Dimitrov vs Sinner, and I’ve given my two cents on the possible outcome below.
Our favourite Grigor Dimitrov vs Jannik Sinner predictions
Contents
As one of the first quarter-final matches for the 2024 French Open, we have a classic in the making involving Dimitrov and Sinner. Of course, Dimitrov is a veteran of the tour at this point, while Sinner is in the form of his life, despite being more than 10 years younger than Dimitrov.
As for my predictions for this game, I’ve highlighted and explained them here:
Dimitrov to win a set – yes @ 3/5 (1.60)
Based on Dimitrov’s performance in the previous round against Hurkacz, there are strong signs that he has the ability to snag a set or two from Sinner. At the same time, Sinner looked vulnerable in the early stages of his match against Moutet. If he has a similar start here, Dimitrov can capitalize and take the opener.
Over 36.5 games @ 10/11 (1.91)
Because I believe that Dimitrov can challenge Sinner in this match, I think that the match could go four or even five sets. In either instance, there is a very good chance that the match will have over 36.5 games – particularly if it goes five sets, in which case that would be almost guaranteed.
Grigor Dimitrov vs Jannik Sinner odds
The latest odds confirm that Dimitrov has a 23.80% chance of winning this encounter while the probability for Sinner is 81.80%.
Can Dimitrov cause problems for Sinner at Roland Garros?
Moving on from the predictions, let me cover more details on Dimitrov and Sinner ahead of this quarter-final match.
Grigor Dimitrov preview
Dimitrov is ranked 10 in the world right now, which is a testament to the kind of tennis he’s been playing in 2024. He’s been fantastic in the French Open over the previous week, too, especially in the last round when he took down Hurkacz in straight sets. And while Dimitrov hasn’t performed too well against Sinner in the past, his single win over the Italian did come on outdoor clay.
Jannik Sinner preview
Jannik Sinner is one of the favourites to win the tournament based on his form in 2024. Of course, he won the only slam played so far this year, too, which was the Australian Open. As for his results at Roland Garros, he’s been solid on the whole, losing just one set in the previous round to Moutet.
Dimitrov vs Sinner head to head
The head-to-head records don’t make for good reading if you are a Dimitrov fan. He has lost to Sinner three times while he’s only beaten the Italian once – putting the head-to-head at 3-1 in favour of Sinner. Worse yet, he only beat Sinner on their first encounter back in 2020, meaning he’s lost to Sinner three times in a row since.
