Cerundolo vs Auger-Aliassime – Match Predictions
Contents
Francisco Cerundolo is definitely one of the most promising South American players at the moment. He has a simply enormous forehand that can produce winners from just about anywhere on the court. Of course, the same can be said of his opponent, Felix Auger-Aliassime. On paper, Auger-Aliassime should be taking the win here, but I don’t think things will be quite that straightforward.
In fact, I can see an upset taking place in this match if Cerundolo brings his A-game. I say this as he definitely has the game to beat Auger-Aliassime on a hard court. And also, the Canadian has endured a pretty tough ride to the third round already. He could well be feeling it physically, and if Cerundolo pushes him, this game could be very interesting indeed.
On that note, take a look at my tennis predictions today right here accompanied by an explanation for each.
Cerundolo To Win A Set – Yes
The Argentinian has been solid in his opening two rounds at the Australian Open. He’s dropped just one set in the previous round against Moutet, whereas Auger-Aliassime has dropped a total of three sets in two matches. Should this trend continue, it’s clear that Cerundolo could snatch at least a set here.
Cerundolo +1.5 Set Handicap
Assuming Cerundol wins at least a set, I see no reason to avoid the +1.5 set handicap market. This is all the more appealing given the incredible odds for this to occur. Bear in mind I truly believe that Cerundolo has the game to beat Auger-Aliassime. Yet for this one, he would need to snag two sets, which is also very possible against the Canadian.
Cerundolo vs Auger-Aliassime Preview
To gain a better understanding of these guys and their tennis, check out the two previews presented here:
Francisco Cerundolo Preview
Cerundolo is ranked 29 in the world at the minute, and he is seeded 28th at the Australian Open. Of course, you don’t get to become a top 30 player by accident. He’s a bit of a beast out there at times, and if he catches his forehand right, opponents are on the back foot immediately. However, prior to the Australian Open, he had never won a main draw match at a Grand Slam.
Felix Auger-Aliassime Preview
In contrast to Cerundolo, Auger-Aliassime has plenty of experience in Grand Slams. Just last year he made the quarter-finals at the Australian Open, and he really is a great hard-court player. He’s also ranked 7th in the world, making him one of the top guys in the Australian Open draw this year.
Cerundolo vs Auger-Aliassime Head to Head
This will be the first time that Cerundolo and Auger-Aliassime play each other. So when thinking about head-to-head indicators before deciding on any betting markets, we have literally nothing to go on.
