Tiafoe is having a subpar season by his standards so far. The American hasn’t really lit up any tournaments this year, and while he did reach the semi-finals in Delray Beach, he was smoked by Tommy Paul. So I don’t feel his confidence will be sky-high here, despite being the 8th seed.

Max Purcell preview

Interestingly, Purcell’s doubles results have been much better than his singles results in the 2024 season. Then again, he has won the Wimbledon men’s doubles before, so this perhaps shouldn’t be so surprising. As for his form in singles, he hasn’t made any deep draw runs, yet he has narrowly lost out to the likes of Casper Ruud and Holger Rune – a good sign of the calibre of player he can challenge.
