The 2024 Madrid Open is coming to an end. There’s just the men’s singles final to go, and I’ve got a couple of tennis predictions today to cover the game between Auger-Aliassime and Rublev. Check them out below.

Our favourite Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Andrey Rublev predictions

The final between Auger-Aliassime and Rublev is kicking off in a few hours’ time. For Rublev, he’s chasing a second Masters 1000 title, while Auger-Aliassime is in his very first Masters 1000 final. Based on these factors and due to how Rublev has performed this week, I’ve got the following two tips for the upcoming final:

Rublev to win 2-0 @ 19/20 (1.95)

Given Rublev’s performances in his most recent matches, I believe that he will get the job done in straight sets today. I just cannot see how Auger-Aliassime will challenge the big hitting Russian based on the way he’s striking the ball. Additionally, Rublev’s confidence will be sky-high after beating Alcaraz and Fritz.

Rublev -2.5 games handicap @ 11/20 (1.55)

Since I think Rublev will win in straight sets, this next market also stands out as a logical complement to the first one. For this to occur, Rublev only needs to secure a single break in each set. Alternatively, if he wins one set by a score of 7-6, he just needs to secure one break in the other set, and this market will still pull through.

Felix Auger-Aliassime vs Andrey Rublev odds

The most recent odds confirm that Auger-Aliassime has an implied chance of 32.30% here. As for Rublev, his implied probability of lifting the title today is 75%.

Rublev for second Masters title or Auger-Aliassime for maiden 1000-level crown?

Now that I’ve shared my tips for the 2024 Madrid Open final today let me switch gears and give you a preview for each individual now.

Felix Auger-Aliassime preview

Auger-Aliassime’s run to the Madrid Open final has come out of nowhere. He hasn’t been in great form in 2024, but we all know he has the potential to be one of the best in the world on clay. That said, he has been fortunate to reach the final in some sense, as he’s received one walkover and two mid-match retirements to make it. Then again, none of that matters in this one-on-one showdown for the title.

Andrey Rublev preview

I find it interesting that Rublev is shooting for his second 1000-level title here, as, again, the tournament is played on clay. And much like Auger-Aliassime, he hasn’t been in great form recently. However, something has definitely clicked this week, and he’s been simply awesome in his last two matches. For me, this shows that he is the most likely winner today.

Auger-Aliassime vs Rublev head to head

Rublev holds a 4-1 head-to-head record over Auger-Aliassime coming into this match. The most recent of these matches was this season, too – a match that Rublev won in three sets.
