Federico Coria vs Marton Fucsovics – Match Predictions

While on the face of it, a game between two players so close in the world rankings should be a close affair this one is unlikely to be. The form of the two players is very different and a Fucsovics loss would be a huge upset. Let’s take a look at our predictions in further detail.

Marton Fucsovics To Win 3-0

Fucsovics is the form man going into the match having won the Challenger event in Canberra last week. The Hungarian has been in red-hot form for a couple of months now and has won 13 out of his last 15 matches, all of which have been on a hard court.  Coria, on the other hand, has only been playing competitive matches on a hard court for the past two weeks and has lost three out of his four matches. Fucsovics should cruise to a 3-0 victory.

Under 33.5 Games

If you want to protect yourself against the possibility of Coria nicking a set then under 33.5 games at the same odds as Fucsovics to win 3-0 could be worth a look. This bet would cover a 2-6 6-2 6-2 6-3 victory for Fucsovics, for example, and you’d get paid out the same as you would if he won in straight sets. Neither of them are fantastic on serve so there could be plenty of breaks throughout the match which suggests tie breaks are unlikely.

Marton Fucsovics vs Federico Coria Preview

With the predictions locked in, let’s take a closer look at the two players involved. Both men have enjoyed decent careers on the ATP circuit but are entering the latter stages of their careers.

Marton Fucsovics

Currently sitting in 72nd place in the ATP World Rankings, Marton Fucsovics won’t have yet given up hope on bettering his career-high of 31st. His form since the end of last year has been fantastic in Challenger events but will need to improve his performance in ATP events if he is to do that. He is an all-rounder who is effective on all surfaces. Although he has no real chance of going deep in the tournament a third or fourth-round run would be a success for the Hungarian.

Federico Coria

While Fucsovics seems to be enjoying a renaissance as he enters his 30s, Coria’s form is seemingly heading in the other direction. His hard court record is fairly dismal and has always flourished more on the clay which doesn’t bode well for his chance in Australia. The Argentinian will have to pull off an upset if he is to progress past the opening round.

Coria vs Fucsovics Head to Head

The pair have only faced each other on one previous occasion. In 2017, they faced off in a Challenger event in Italy with Fucsovics coming out on top 2-1.
