Enzo Couacaud vs Novak Djokovic Prediction and Odds: Australian Open

With the recent loss of the Australian Open’s No.1 seed and defending champion, Novak Djokovic is in the box seat to win the tournament for a tenth time. After a straight forward first round win, he now heads into the second round where he’ll face French qualifier Enzo Couacaud. Here’s a look at how we think that match will unfold, and a few of the best bets to place ahead of the first ball being served on day four.

These odds from Ladbrokes were correct at the time of writing.

Enzo Couacaud vs Novak Djokovic – Match Prediction

Here at Pundit Feed, we love making tennis predictions. Here’s how we see this match unfolding, and what wagers we’d recommend taking:

Set One Under 8.5 Games @ 21/20 (2.05)

Despite only three days of play unfolding at the Australian Open, you’d have to think Novak Djokovic can almost taste his 22nd Grand Slam already. No Carlos Alcaraz, no Nick Kyrgios, no Rafael Nadal. The path is clear for Djokovic to roll all the way to the title here, and he knows it.

Expect Novak to come out focused and ready to get the job done quickly here on day four. He’s had a slight leg tweak the past fortnight, so will be looking to hit winners and minimise his court time in the first week of the Australian Open. Chances are he’ll land a few early breaks and win the first set 6-2 or better.

Total Games Under 26.5 @ 17/20 (1.85)

The reality is, this is an overwhelmingly lopsided match. Enzo Couacaud has never been inside the world’s Top 150 players, despite being in the latter half of his career as a professional tennis player. He’s bene playing Challenger tournaments, and losing. Novak Djokovic, on the other hand, hasn’t lost here in almost five years, and is going for his 10th title.

While sometimes young, enthusiastic qualifiers can give the established favourites a run for their money in the early rounds, this doesn’t feel like one of those matches. Expect Djokovic to wrap this one up in under two hours, and for the loss of only six or seven games.

Enzo Couacaud vs Novak Djokovic Preview

Here’s a little background on each of these players ahead of placing these bets:

Enzo Couacaud

Frenchman Enzo Couacaud is 27 years old, and has been playing tennis professionally the past decade. His career high is No.155 in the world, while he currently sits at No.191 having gone 1-5 so far in 2023. This is his fourth appearance in a Grand Slam, and second time making it to the second round having beaten Hugo Dellien 6-4, 7-5, 6-0 in his opening match.

Novak Djokovic

This is a man that needs little introduction, as one of the best ever tennis players to contest the game. Novak is the tournament favourite with odds of better than 4/5 currently, and is seeking his 10th title here at the Australian Open. His first round match was routine, with the Serbian dispatching Roberto Carballes Baena 6-3, 6-4, 6-0 to progress into the second round.
