As one of the most highly anticipated quarter-finals at Wimbledon, I’m pleased to share my tennis predictions today for Rybakina vs Svitolina. Check out my top tips and the respective odds below.
Our favourite Elena Rybakina vs Elina Svitolina predictions
Contents
We all expected Elena Rybakina to be in the quarters this year. But for Svitolina, sure, she can play great on any surface, but this wasn’t necessarily on the cards for Wimbledon 2024. Regardless, she’s fought hard to be in a position to reach the semi-finals, and she has a 2-2 record against Rybakina.
With that taken into account, here are my predictions:
Svitolina to win a set – yes @ 17/20 (1.85)
Svitolina has been playing fantastic tennis at Wimbledon this year. In fact, she’s only dropped one set to get to this point. At the same time, she’s beaten Rybakina twice in the past, so I definitely feel she has what it takes to grab a set – if not win the match!
Over 20.5 games @ 4/6 (1.67)
Because these two are relatively evenly matched, with possibly a slight edge for Rybakina, I believe this contest will have over 20.5 games. Furthermore, three of their four previous meetings have resulted in more than 20.5 games. So, this seems a logical play, given the current circumstances.
Elena Rybakina vs Elina Svitolina odds
As the favourite to win the tournament at this point, Rybakina has a 76.90% chance of winning this match vs. just a 30.80% probability for Svitolina.
Power vs court craft – who will come out on top?
Will it be Svitolina or Rybakina who marches on and makes the Wimbledon semis? The following previews reveal more answers.
Elena Rybakina preview
Rybakina is a different beast when it comes to Wimbledon. She can smoke the ball like nobody else on tour when she gets going. And since she is a previous Wimbledon champion, she’s familiar with this territory and she understands what it takes to go further. She hasn’t spent too much time on court in the last two rounds either, which could be a good or a bad thing.
Elina Svitolina preview
For whatever reason, playing at Wimbledon just brings out the best in Elina Svitolina. She’s looking to match her achievement of making the semis in 2023, too, and she certainly looks ready to do so. However, Rybakina has the ability to steamroll her if she brings her biggest groundstrokes to the party. So Svitolina needs to play this one tactically if she is to upset the odds and make the semi-final.
Rybakina vs Svitolina head to head
The head to head between Rybakina and Svitolina stands at 2-2 right now. They’ve chopped and changed who wins each time they’ve played too, and it was Rybakina who won their most recent contest. This was just a few weeks ago at Roland Garros, but Wimbledon is obviously a totally different surface.
