He reached the Austrian Open quarterfinals defeating Yannick Hanfmann 7-6, 6-3 and Juan Manuel Cerundolo 6-7, 6-4, 6-2.
Previous week, Rinderknech won his only tournament this season at the Zug challenger defeating Joris De Loore 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Four of his last six matches went to the third set.
