It is difficult to see past Sinner in this meeting. The Italian is on a roll at the moment and has easily made the switch from hard to clay courts. He lost in the semi-finals of Monte Carlo and was easily beating struggling Schwartzman before his withdrawl. Not much has changed in the week since and we expect a straight sets victory for the young Italian.

Schwartzman has struggled to keep up with Sinner’s powerful shots. It was evident in their meeting in the 2021 ATP Antwerp finals that finished 6-2 and 6-2 in Sinner’s favour. In their meeting in Monaco, the Italian only allowed Schwartzman a single game out of the 10 that were played. The Argentine seems to have made a quick recovery but looks unlikely to avoid a short defeat in Barcelona.

Sinner continues to go from strength to strength in the 2023 campaign. He has been on an absolute roll across the first three ATP 1000 events. Clawing at points that come his way, we expect an other strong tournament for him in Catalonia.
