My tennis predictions today focus on both the men’s and women’s events in Indian Wells. Today, the second round matches are continuing in both events, and I’ve selected Yastremska vs Raducanu here for some key betting markets you should consider. All of the details are shared below.
Our favourite Dayana Yastremska vs Emma Raducanu predictions
Contents
Amazingly, Yastremska is one of three players from Ukraine in the second round in this section of the draw. She is one of two seeded players from Ukraine here too, as she is the 30th seed at Indian Wells. That said, she’s due to play the wildcard entry, Emma Raducanu, for a spot in the third round.
Which way will the game swing? My following predictions give the most likely outcomes with high-value odds.
Yastremska to win @ 5/4 (2.25)
Interestingly, while Yastremska is the 30th seed here, she’s the underdog in terms of the odds for her to win. With that said, as you might recall, she had an incredible run to the semi-finals of the Australian Open just a couple of months ago. And she’s been pretty active concerning the number of tournaments played since, so I feel she will beat Raducanu today.
Yastremska +2.5 games handicap @ 10/11 (1.91)
Since I’m shooting for Yastremska to win, I’m choosing to double down and cover the +2.5 games handicap market too. Of course, if she wins, this means both markets will pull through. Yet, this one could pull through as long as she runs Raducanu close, which I feel is a good shout in itself.
Dayana Yastremska vs Emma Raducanu odds
Yastremska has an implied probability of 44.40% chance to win this match. As for Raducanu, her chance of winning is 63.60%, based on the latest odds.
Raducanu facing tough test in BNP Paribas Open second round
These two players were not heavily focused on in my initial Indian Wells 2024 preview. So I feel it’s fair to cover some extra details on both of them now.
Dayana Yastremska preview
Following her success at the Australian Open, Yastremska suddenly found herself seeded in many WTA events, as is the case here. But people tend to forget – she’s been ranked as high as 21 in the world previously, so she’s always had the ability to be a top player. At the same time, she’s played plenty of hard-court tennis recently, so she will be sharp going into this one.
Emma Raducanu preview
We all know that Raducanu is a former Grand Slam champion. This alone makes her an automatic threat to anyone who isn’t at the very top of the women’s game. And while she’s still making her comeback after a string of injuries in 2023, she’s looking better with each passing tournament.
Yastremska vs Raducanu head to head
These two have met on just one occasion previously, and Yastremska was forced to retire in that match through injury. This technically goes down as a win for Raducanu, making the head-to-head 1-0 in her favour.
