Our tennis predictions today relating to the 2024 Miami Open are almost at a close. In fact, for the women’s tournament, there’s just one more match prediction left to go. And that’s my prediction for the match involving Danielle Collins and Elena Rybakina. Keep reading for my tips ahead of this final.
Our favourite Danielle Collins vs Elena Rybakina predictions
Contents
If you looked at the Miami Open 2024 preview we put together prior to this tournament, Rybakina is a name you’ll have noticed. As the 4th seed, she was always going to be a contender for the title, so it’s not too surprising she’s in the final. But for Danielle Collins, this is a big shock, as the American wasn’t even seeded.
Nevertheless, they’ve both reached the final and one of them will win the Miami Open. So let me share my predictions now.
Over 23.5 games @ 6/5 (2.20)
Danielle Collins has been playing out of her skin in Miami, and this has come pretty much from nowhere. Amazingly, the only set she’s dropped was in the first round against a lucky loser, yet she’s been on a tear since. Additionally, she’s beaten Rybakina before, while her three defeats against Rybakina all came in three sets.
Rybakina to win 2-1 @ 16/5 (4.20)
Shooting for any player to win in a deciding set is always a ‘riskier’ play than some other markets. But Rybakina has beaten Collins by this scoreline on three separate occasions. Furthermore, with the way that Collins is playing, I can see this one going the distance yet again, but I expect Rybakina to come out on top.
Danielle Collins vs Elena Rybakina odds
Collins has a 41.70% probability of winning this match given the latest moneyline odds. Rybakina, on the other hand, has a better chance at 65.20%.
Collins to finish her week in style, or will Rybakina hold strong?
Predictions aside, this one should be a highly entertaining match. However, I’d like to give you a few more details before things kick off.
Danielle Collins preview
Collins announced a few weeks ago that she plans to retire at the end of the 2024 season. Whether this has taken all of the pressure away or not, only she will know. But it’s clear that she’s playing some of her best tennis ever at the Miami Open, dropping just one set en route to the finals. However, she must produce an even bigger effort if she is to edge Rybakina for the title.
Elena Rybakina preview
We all know how huge Rybakina hits the ball. And we all know how dangerous she can be when she gets on a roll. However, she’s had to fight to make the finals this week, with four of her five matches going three sets. Then again, she’s experienced in these big matches, which is why she’s still the favourite.
Collins vs Rybakina head to head
Rybakina has a 3-1 head-to-head record against Collins, but all three wins came in deciding sets. Collins’ single win against Rybakina was also back in 2021, which is a fair while ago.
