Eubanks arrives at the Hard Rock Stadium to end his poor run of form. He has now lost four matches in succession and needs to arrest his decline as his ATP points defence will start to matter at this stage of the campaign.

The 27-year-old had an impressive run at the Miami Open last year, reaching the quarter-finals after coming through the qualifiers. He was unfortunate to lie in the path of eventual champion Daniil Medvedev in that famous run and will hope for similar results to get out of his rut.

Christopher Eubanks’ next match – Miami Open third round vs Alexander Zverev

Eubanks was made to work hard by Daniel Evans in his first outing at the Miami Open. There was a welcome sigh of relief as it saw Eubanks’ four-match losing streak concluded. It will be interesting how he fares next against the ever-dangerous Alexander Zverev.

The German ace continues to rise up the rankings, joining the top-five after his Indian Wells quarter-final run. He defeated Felix Auger-Aliasssime in the first round in straight sets. The duo have met once before, the German triumphing on the Geneva 2023 clay courts.
