We are approaching the end of what has been a top-level tournament in Los Cabos. Of course, this means we still have some tennis predictions today to share with you to wrap up this thrilling week. And here, I will be covering the game between Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas – the first of two semi-finals coming up tonight.
Our favourite Casper Ruud vs Stefanos Tsitsipas predictions
Contents
Despite both of these guys being top players on the ATP Tour, they haven’t played one another since 2021. As it happens, the head-to-head is tied at 1-1, too, so it’s perfectly balanced as we approach the 2024 Los Cabos semi-final. That said, the goal here is to cover a couple of high-value predictions, and that’s precisely what you’ll find below.
Ruud to win @ 10/11 (1.91)
I know that both guys have won just two matches to reach the semi-finals here. However, Ruud’s wins have been quite exceptional. I say this as he beat Giron 6-1 6-0 followed by Borges 6-3 6-2, so he’s obviously finding the kind of form that has made him a previous world number 2.
Ruud +1.5 games handicap @ 8/11 (1.73)
Although the odds for Ruud to win are pretty high, he’s still the underdog in this match. This means that he has a positive game handicap of +1.5 game for us to cover, which I believe is a good play to make. For me, this is all the more justified since Tsitsipas won by a tight margin against a qualifier in the previous round.
Casper Ruud vs Stefanos Tsitsipas odds
The latest odds show us that the implied probability for Ruud is 52.40%, while the chance for Tsitsipas to win is marginally higher at 55.60%.
Ruud or Tsitsipas to play for the Los Cabos title on Sunday?
The ATP schedule 2024 confirms that Los Cabos is an important event, especially as two 1000-level tournaments are coming up next month. As for the form and other relative information for these two, I’ve shared such details in the following previews:
Casper Ruud preview
Ruud is a former world number 2. And while hard-courts aren’t necessarily his favourite, he is still a fantastic hard-court player. He has been rather ruthless en route to the semi-finals in Los Cabos, too, dropping just 6 games in two matches. So for me, he is the player in better form.
Stefanos Tsitsipas preview
Tsitsipas has struggled with form for months now, and he has dropped outside of the top 10 recently. Now, he is down at number 11, and he is about to face an in-form Casper Ruud in the Los Cabos semi-finals. In my opinion, Ruud will take him out, but this is a great test for Tsitsipas to see where his game is at right now.
Ruud vs Tsitsipas head to head
The head-to-head between Tsitsipas and Ruud sits at 1-1, yet both matches were played back in 2021. That said, Tsitsipas won the only hard-court meeting convincingly.
